Horizon Hobby Air Meet makes hobbyists the stars of the show.
How would you like to participate in a national-level status, off-road event at a brand new track built just for you? That's in fact the case for the first Horizon Off-Road Showdown at the US Air Meet. It will feature nitro and electric events for 1/8- and 1/10-scale classes.
The track will be open on Thursday. Friday is the official practice day. Off-road racing will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday. This is where Air Meet kicks into high gear and makes you the star of the show for thousands of public spectators. You'll share the limelight with other RC specialists from around the country to enjoy the fun by delivering dazzling, non-stop hobby entertainment that will thrill and inspire an audience of all ages. Hundreds of drivers are expected, so be sure to register early.
For your convenience, an on-site Horizon Hobby Service Center will be available during the event. AC electric power and secure overnight storage will also be available. Mike hails from Torrance, California, and has been into Radio Control for the last 11 years, getting hooked on racing cars after he started flying airplanes and helicopters. His favorite track is the Nitro Pit, his favorite RC class is 1/8th Buggy and his favorite event is the RC Nitro Challenge. In 2008 Mike was the Remotely Operated Auto Racers (ROAR) Bubby National Champion, and he's very proud to have added the Worlds Top Qualifier to his list of triumphs for that same year. His favorite RC vehicle is the Losi® XX-CR KE Edition that's given him so many successful RC moments recently. Mike loves to hang out with friends, flying RC and doing pretty much anything else that's fun and offers a challenge.

Dustin Evans

The 2011 ROAR National Champion, Dustin Evans is one of the top drivers for Team Losi Racing, who brings versatility to a speedy driver lineup. The Denver, Colorado native has ascended through the world rankings and established himself as a winner, while being one of the few drivers capable of competing in seven different classes of competition. He struck early and often in 2011 with an invitational victory at the Reedy International Race of Champions and maintained his winning ways at races such as the Short Course Showdown, JConcepts Fall Indoor Nationals and the Hot Rod Shootout. Dustin peaked during the ROAR Off-Road Nationals, where he was able to take home the prestigious 2WD Modified National Championship. Dustin has the personality, flair and magic that must be seen to be believed.

Scotty has been involved in RC since 1988 after his tour of duty was finished in the US Navy. After racing and falling in love with RC, he opened S&N'S Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This was an indoor racetrack and hobby shop. Over the next nearly 20 years, he moved S&N's two times to where it is currently located in Brookfield, Wisconsin still with a full hobby shop and now two indoor racetracks. Scotty has announced thousands of races with his own unique style and enthusiasm. In 2001 he was asked to race direct and announce one of the most prestigious events in all of RC, the Reedy Race of Champions, which launched a new venture that takes Scotty around the world to direct and announce some of the biggest motor sport events. In 2005 he began his own world-class level event called the International Indoor Championships held on the "Strip" in Las Vegas, which attracts the biggest names in RC from around the globe. He has announced numerous World Championships as well as full-scale racing at the Legendary Milwaukee Mile, which includes NASCAR and Indy Car events. Scotty brings the life of the show to a whole new level.
